Owl Hat

This hat makes me think of my Dad. He collects owls. This was my first knitted hat EVER. In fact, I was nearly finished with one last week. When I realized I didn't like the way the ears were placed. So I began removing them...snip, snip, snip....what the!?!?! oh crap!!!! I snipped the hat.....yup....there it went...unraveling like a gushing pipe....oh well.... All, I could do was start over again... Just keep knitting, just keep knitting....

Hello Kitty Hat

I saw an example of this on another blog and thought I'd give it a try. I think it turned out pretty cute. Josie loved it...she looked me in the eye with the sweetest voice on earth and said...."thank you mommmy". I cried.

First Knitting Post

Hello knitting world! You have welcomed me with open arms...and may I say...I heart you.
As many of you know I've decided to take a stab at knitting again. I tried to learn a couple of years ago and my hand just didn't want to knit and purl. So, I kept on crocheting. Then I dropped the yarn bug for a LONG while. Instead, I had a baby, read, cleaned house, etc. You all know how it goes. Then one day....I thought....that's it I know I can do this. So, YouTube and I became best buds. I checked out books, DVDs, read blogs, and ended up teaching my hands to knit. Now, I'm hardly ever without some yarn and needles. I've only created a few things thus far but I've really enjoyed it.
I went to my first "real" knitting store 2 weeks ago. It just made me smile seeing all the friendly knitters, the hanks of yarn in the cute cubbies, shelves of books, idea, and examples. Every Thursday night they have a free for all knitting session. "Birds of a feather, flock together". I hope to join in on the fun some day soon.
Hope you like the few items I've knitted thus far.
